My Vacation to New Berlin, IL

We took a trip to New Berlin, IL (near Springfield) to visit my Grandpa Joe and Grandma Karen during Father's Day weekend. We had a lot of fun and I really miss seeing them.

It's a long drive.

It takes a long time to get to my Grandma & Grandpa's house. Mom rented a mini-van with a DVD player. We got to eat in the van and watch movies during the drive.

Natalie wasn't too bothered by the long drive.

This is what we saw for most of the drive....corn.

My first drive-in movie.

It's hard to tell from this picture, but this is me watching my first movie at the drive-in theater. I watched Over the Hedge and then me and Natalie and Dad fell asleep in the back of the van while mom watched The DaVinci Code.

A relaxing weekend.

We caught toads in the backyard.

I played on Grandpa's boat.

Grandma grilled steaks for dinner.

Natalie took a bath in the sink.

Lots of different things to see at the zoo.

Polar bears.

Spiders as big as my head.

Crocodiles.

Monkeys.

Visiting the butterflies.

We spent a lot of time with the butterflies. I kept trying to get one to land on my arm, but I have a hard time holding still for very long.

This zoo is fun!

It was so hot the day we were at the zoo. There were these giant misting machines that we could stand in front of to cool off.

I rode the carousel with my dad...

...and I went on a train ride around the whole zoo.

Asian Elephants

I was too distracted by my giant pickle to notice the elephants.

Playing with Grandma

Grandma & Natalie

Grandma showed me how to stack dominos and knock them down.

After a thunderstorm, we played in a puddle and made handprints.
